THE RESERVE
Welgevonden Game Reserve is a declared heritage site of 37 000 hectares, malaria free, adjoining the Marakele National Park in the breathtaking Waterberg Biosphere, in Limpopo Province. A true bushveld environment and home to Africa’s most sought after game species, with one of the largest collections of white rhino. Join a guided safari or specialised bush walk with an experienced ranger to view elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland and many other antelope species with the opportunity to spot the aardvark, brown hyena or the rarely seen honey badger and bush pig.

THE LODGE
Privately owned and operated, Makweti is for the true safari connoisseur in search of diverse wildlife and a Big 5 experience. The main lodge is built from natural rock with teak decks overhanging the dramatic Makweti Gorge. Rare African art, antique furnishings, rich woods, leather and woven textures create a homely elegance. ROOMS & SUITES
The resort comprises 60 luxuriously furnished and equipped one and two bedroomed villas, either close to the beach or on the hillside. These villas combine the very best of Seychellois architecture – contemporary and colonial decor – from high sloping ceilings, airy verendahs and louvered doors. Each spacious villa has its own private swimming pool and sundeck, some with private outdoor jet pool.
