Two very different American cities followed by a week on the Mexican Caribbean. You start with three nights in Midtown Manhattan, fly west for four nights on the Las Vegas Strip, then head south to Cancún for seven nights all-inclusive on a white-sand beach. It is a long-haul trip that packs in a lot without feeling rushed. Each stop gets enough time to settle in before you move on.
You fly into New York and home direct from Cancún, so there is no backtracking. The beach week gives you time to recover from the cities, with day trips to Chichén Itzá, the cenotes or Isla Mujeres if you want them. Nights can be moved between stops to suit you.

Four nights leaves time for shows, a pool day, the older casinos of Fremont Street and a trip out to the Grand Canyon or the Hoover Dam.
Cancún's Hotel Zone is a long strip of white sand between the Caribbean and the Nichupté Lagoon. Spend the week on the beach, or take day trips to the Mayan site of Chichén Itzá, swim in the cenotes or catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres.

Best time to go: March to May and October to November suit all three stops, with mild city weather and a dry beach week. December to April is Cancún's driest season; June to November is the hurricane season and Las Vegas is very hot in midsummer.

Take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, walk the High Line and Central Park, and see the city from the Top of the Rock.

Spend a day by the pool, see a show, explore Fremont Street and take a helicopter or coach trip to the Grand Canyon.
Fly south to Cancún, usually with one connection in Texas, and transfer to your all-inclusive beach hotel.

Sargassum seaweed can reach the Mexican Caribbean, mostly between spring and late summer. The Hotel Zone's north-facing beaches and Isla Mujeres are usually less affected.
