A dune drive to the Inland Sea is easy to add.
From Doha it is just over four hours to Malé, and your island is a short speedboat ride away in North Malé Atoll. The resort is relaxed and sociable, with a good house reef, and surfers come for its own right-hand break. Short transfers also mean you are on the beach within an hour or so of landing, and back at the airport quickly on the way home.

Best time to go: November to April is the best time to go, when Doha is warm rather than hot and the Maldives is in its dry season. May to October is usually better value, but Doha is very hot in summer and the Maldives has more rain.
