Trip overview

Two of America's best-known cities in one week. Spend three nights in Midtown Manhattan for Broadway, the skyline and Central Park, then fly west across the country to Las Vegas for three nights on the Strip, with its shows, pools and restaurants. The Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam are both within reach for a day trip. It suits first-time visitors to the US who want plenty packed into a week.

We plan it as an open-jaw trip, so you fly into New York and home direct from Las Vegas, without doubling back. Both hotels are central, so you can walk to most of what you came for. Add a night or two in either city if you want a slower pace.

Trip highlights

  • Three nights in Midtown Manhattan
  • Broadway, Top of the Rock and the High Line
  • Three nights on the Las Vegas Strip

Good to know

How long is the flight from New York to Las Vegas?

Direct flights take about 5½ hours heading west, and Las Vegas is three hours behind New York. Morning flights leave you most of the afternoon on the Strip.

Can I fly home direct from Las Vegas?

Yes. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic fly direct from Las Vegas to London Heathrow, so you do not need to return through New York.

Is a Grand Canyon trip included?

No, but it is easy to add. The South Rim is a long day by coach, while helicopter and small-plane flights reach the West Rim or fly over the canyon in a few hours.

What are resort fees?

Most Las Vegas and many New York hotels add a nightly resort or destination fee, paid at check-in. We show the expected amount when we quote.
