Trip overview

The three main islands of the Seychelles are close enough to link by ferry, yet each has its own character. Mahé has the mountains, the capital Victoria and the most beaches. La Digue is small and slow, with bicycles rather than cars and the granite boulders of Anse Source d'Argent. Praslin has the Vallée de Mai, home of the coco de mer palm, and the curve of Anse Lazio.

Four nights on each island gives time to settle in without rushing. Ferries between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are quick and regular, and on the way home a 15-minute flight takes you from Praslin back to Mahé for your international flight. All the transfers, ferry tickets and the domestic flight are arranged for you in advance.

Good to know

How do you travel between the islands?

By fast ferry: about an hour from Mahé to Praslin and 15 minutes from Praslin to La Digue. A 15-minute domestic flight links Praslin and Mahé.

Which island should we spend longest on?

Four nights each suits most people. Beach lovers often add a night on Praslin, while walkers may prefer more time on Mahé.

Is La Digue suitable if we don't cycle?

Yes. Electric buggies and a few taxis run on the island, and many beaches are within walking distance of the jetty.

Can we start in Dubai?

Yes. Most flights connect in Dubai, so a stop there is easy. See our Dubai & Seychelles trip for an example.
