Side: the old town, its harbour restaurants and Roman ruins, with beaches either side; the east beach is calmer. Sorgun: quieter, with pine forest backing the beach, a short ride from Side’s old town. Both are about an hour from Antalya airport.

Things to do
Explore the Temple of Apollo and the Roman theatre, walk the ancient colonnaded street to the harbour, visit the Manavgat waterfall and take a boat trip on the Manavgat River, and see the theatre at Aspendos. Antalya’s old town makes a great day out.
