Belek, Side, Kemer or Alanya?
Belek: big, high-quality resorts, golf and long sandy beaches, around 30 minutes from Antalya airport. Side: sandy beaches and a Roman old town, around an hour from the airport. Kemer: pine-clad mountains behind pebble beaches, around an hour away, with a lovely marina. Alanya: a lively town with a castle and Cleopatra Beach, around two hours away, or less from Gazipaşa airport. For young children, Belek and Side have the shortest transfers and sandiest beaches.

When to go and getting there
May to October is the season. July and August are very hot, typically in the mid-30s °C, so many families prefer June, September or October half-term, when the sea is still warm. Flights to Antalya take around four and a quarter hours from the UK.
Family days out
Most families stay put and enjoy the resort, but there is plenty nearby: the Düden waterfalls, Antalya’s old town and aquarium, the Roman theatre at Aspendos, the ruins of Side, a pirate-boat trip, the cable car up Mount Tahtalı near Kemer, and the Land of Legends theme park near Belek.
