Outside, the focus is a generously sized saltwater pool framed by loungers and sea views – perfect for unhurried days in the Sardinian sun. Alghero is one of Sardinia’s most characterful coastal towns, known for its Catalan heritage, Gothic cathedrals and pretty harbour. Expect Italian as the main language and Euros (€) as the local currency. Sardinia sits one hour ahead of the UK, and average flight times from the UK are around three hours.
