Map & location
Alghero, Sardinia, Italy
Baia di Conte enjoys a privileged position in the Porto Conte area on Sardinia’s rugged north-west coast, just outside the characterful town of Alghero. The resort itself is tucked between pine woods and a curve of pale sand, so you can wander straight from breakfast to the beach or explore coastal paths and lookouts inside the national park.
Head into Alghero and you’ll swap sea and scrub for Gothic cathedrals, honey-coloured bastion walls, boutique-lined lanes and a lively marina filled with yachts and fishing boats. It’s a great spot for long seafood lunches – this is one of the island’s best places to try Sardinian specialities and ultra-fresh fish.
- Beach on the beachfront

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Cool off in three outdoor pools, including two that are tailored for younger swimmers. The main pool is spacious, framed by loungers and parasols, and catches the sun for most of the day, while the dedicated children’s pools make life easier with little ones in tow. Pool facilities and depth vary, so always check which suits your family best.
The star of the show is the private sandy beach just in front of the resort. The bay is gently shelving, so paddling and swimming feel safe and inviting on calm days. Sunbeds from the third row back are generally available for guests, while the first and second rows can be reserved locally for a fee (subject to availability) if you want pole-position by the waterline.
Spa, sports & wellness
Sports fans are well covered at Baia di Conte. Expect multiple courts and pitches for tennis and other activities, plus organised games and tournaments during the day in peak season. Whether you’re more about a friendly five-a-side or a focused hit on the tennis court, there’s plenty of space to move.
When it’s time to wind down, the on-site wellness centre is your go-to for massages and treatments (local charges apply). There’s also the simple pleasure of wandering straight from the hotel into Porto Conte national park – perfect for sunrise walks, short hikes to viewpoints and spotting local flora and birdlife.
Other practical touches include a 24-hour reception, luggage storage and on-site shops for beach and holiday essentials. The hotel is also a Certified Sustainable Hotel, which means initiatives like energy-saving lighting, reduced plastics and local sourcing have been independently assessed.
