Map & location
Alghero, Sardinia, Italy
Hotel Punta Negra sits right on the seafront just outside Alghero, surrounded by fragrant pines and rugged rock shelves that tumble down to sandy coves. You’re away from the bustle enough to really unwind, yet close enough to dip into Alghero’s old town for Gothic churches, narrow cobbled lanes and candlelit trattorie when the mood takes you.
Beach-lovers are spoiled: as well as the little coves directly below the hotel, the wider Alghero area strings together long sweeps like Bombarde Beach, easily reached by local buses or taxi. Boats to the famous Neptune’s Grotto cave system depart from the harbour, so you can turn a simple sightseeing trip into a scenic mini-cruise along the cliffs.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Two outdoor saltwater pools curl around the cliff edge, framed by lawns, pine trees and views across the bay. One pool includes a shallow children’s section, making it easy to keep an eye on little ones, while the other is perfect for longer, lazy laps or simply drifting with a book on a lilo – inflatables are permitted.
Sunbeds and parasols line the surrounding terraces, and the atmosphere stays blissfully chilled; this isn’t a ‘loud music by the pool’ kind of place. From the gardens, paths and steps lead straight down to the small sandy coves below, where you can swim in clear, gently-shelving water and snorkel along rocky outcrops.
Spa, sports & wellness
This isn’t a full-on resort with a long activities list, but rather a peaceful coastal escape with a handful of thoughtful touches.

The hotel team can help arrange boat trips, island excursions and visits to Alghero’s old town, Neptune’s Grotto and nearby beaches.
Practical extras include a reception offering concierge-style support, luggage storage and baby-friendly items like bottle warmers and kettles on request (some items may have a local charge). There are also facilities to charge mobility scooters.
