Twin and multi-centre holidays explained
A twin-centre holiday combines two destinations in one trip: typically a few nights in a city such as Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok or New York, followed by a week on a beach in the Maldives, Mauritius, Phuket or the Caribbean. A multi-centre holiday adds a third stop, such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, or Mahé, Praslin and La Digue in the Seychelles.
Splitting a long-haul holiday has real advantages. A stopover breaks up the journey, so you reach your beach rested; you see two very different places for one return airfare; and you get the best of both worlds, culture, food and nightlife first, then pure relaxation. Our most popular combinations are Dubai and the Maldives, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Dubai and Mauritius and Bangkok and Phuket, with safari and beach trips in Africa close behind.
Every trip on this page is a starting point. Your Travel Designer can change the hotels, the number of nights or the order of the stops, add a third destination, arrange flights from your nearest UK airport or price an upgrade to premium economy or business class. Everything is booked together, with transfers, seaplanes, ferries and internal flights timed to fit, and protected by ATOL.
What is a twin-centre holiday?
A twin-centre holiday combines two destinations in one trip, such as a few nights in Dubai followed by a week in the Maldives. Flights, hotels and transfers are booked together as one ATOL-protected package.
What is the difference between a twin-centre and a multi-centre holiday?
A twin-centre has two stops; a multi-centre has three or more, such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, or Mahé, Praslin and La Digue in the Seychelles.
How many nights should I spend in each place?
Most people choose two to four nights in a city and a week on the beach. On safari, three or four nights is ideal. Your Travel Designer will suggest the right balance for your dates.
Are the prices fixed?
They are guide prices per person, two sharing, including flights, for the travel month shown. Prices change with availability, so your Travel Designer confirms the live price for your dates before you book.
Can I change the hotels or add another stop?
Yes. Every trip is tailor-made: swap hotels, change the order, add nights or a third stop, fly from a regional airport or upgrade to business class.
