The hotel occupies a prime seafront position just west of Funchal’s old town, on Madeira’s sunny south coast. You’re close enough to wander into the city along the promenade, yet far enough out for peaceful ocean views.
From here you can explore Funchal’s famous gardens, cable car and markets, then retreat to the hotel’s saltwater pools and sun decks built into the rocks. Lido promenade and its popular bathing complexes are a short walk away, while the black-sand and pebble sweep of Praia Formosa lies further along the coast.

Currency is the Euro (€) and the local language is Portuguese, though English is widely spoken in hotels and tourist areas. Flight time from the UK is around 4 hours and resort transfers to Pestana Carlton Madeira take roughly 50 minutes.
