Map & location
Funchal, Madeira, Portugal
This is prime Funchal Old Town – think cobbled lanes, painted doors and family-run tavernas. Quinta Bela Sao Tiago sits slightly elevated above the seafront, so you get big views as well as easy access to the action. Stroll a few minutes downhill to the promenade, pick up the cable car to Monte, or wander 15–20 minutes along the waterfront to cosmopolitan Funchal Marina.
Madeira’s famous lido complexes and Praia Formosa’s volcanic black-sand and pebble beaches are a short taxi or bus ride away, while the cable car whisks you up to Monte Palace gardens and the island’s lush mountain scenery.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Take in Funchal’s terraced hillsides and harbour from the hotel’s outdoor freshwater pool, framed by lawns, flower beds and palm trees. Sunbeds and parasols line the terrace, and free pool towels are provided, so you can travel light.
There’s no direct beach at the hotel – Madeira’s coastline here is mostly promenade and lidos – but sea-swimming platforms and lido complexes are an easy taxi or bus ride away, and Praia Formosa’s black-sand and pebble coves are within reach if you fancy a classic beach afternoon.
