Gold Suites sits in the peaceful clifftop village of Imerovigli, one of the most coveted spots on Santorini’s caldera edge. With front-row views over the volcano and deep-blue Aegean, you’re perfectly placed for sunset strolls along the cliff path and photo stops at Skaros Rock.

The compact resort centre – around 240m away – brings you traditional tavernas, cocktail terraces and mini-markets, while the capital Fira is just a couple of kilometres away for buzzy nightlife, shopping and museums. Vourvoulos Beach, a quieter, more local-feeling stretch of sand and pebble, is about 3.3km away by road or taxi.

This elegant à la carte spot pairs creative Greek and international dishes with panoramic caldera views, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks right by the pool terrace. Expect fresh local ingredients, Mediterranean flavours and leisurely courses timed to those famous Santorini sunsets.

The pool bar is open from mid-morning until late evening (approx. 10:30–23:00), shaking up cocktails, serving light bites and keeping drinks topped up around the infinity pool.

The main outdoor freshwater pool seems to melt into the caldera, with a minimalist deck furnished with cushioned sunbeds and parasols. It’s all about tranquillity: long, leisurely swims, light lunches from the pool bar and afternoons spent watching boats trace the caldera. Complimentary pool towels are provided.

There’s no direct beach access from the cliffside location, but taxis or hire cars make it easy to reach nearby beaches such as Vourvoulos, Exo Gialos or the famous black sands of Kamari and Perissa on the east coast.

Gold Suites focuses on relaxation rather than a packed activities programme. A compact spa area (shared with nearby Andromeda Villas) offers a sauna, whirlpool and a menu of massage and beauty treatments (local charges apply; typically open 09:00–20:00, hours may vary).

There’s no on-site gym or organised sports, but the caldera path between Imerovigli, Firostefani and Fira makes a spectacular natural “running track” or walking route. Concierge staff can help with island excursions, winery tours, sunset sailing and private transfers, all payable locally.

Every suite at Gold Suites is unique, carved into the caldera with thoughtful design and those all-important views. Expect white-on-white interiors, natural textures, and terraces made for lingering over breakfast or a glass of Assyrtiko at dusk. Junior Suite

Perfect for couples, these intimate suites blend open-plan living and bedroom space, leading out to a private balcony or terrace overlooking the caldera. Bathrooms have a walk-in shower and high-quality amenities. Ideal if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the island or relaxing by the main pool but still want that iconic view from your room.

Superior Suite with Outdoor Whirlpool

Superior Suites ramp up the romance with an outdoor whirlpool tub on the terrace – your own small spa corner with a front-row seat to Santorini’s sunsets. Gold Suites has a minimum guest age of 13 years and is best suited to adults and older teens. There are no dedicated children’s facilities, kids’ clubs or shallow pools, and the clifftop layout with steps means it’s not ideal for younger children.

2. Do all suites at Gold Suites have a private pool?
Not all suites have private pools. Junior Suites do not feature a pool or whirlpool. Superior Suites come with an outdoor whirlpool on the terrace, while Deluxe Suites and Grand Suites offer private swimming pools, with Grand Suites also including an indoor whirlpool. All suite types include a balcony or terrace with caldera views.

3. What board basis is included, and can I upgrade at Gold Suites?
Gold Suites is offered on a Bed and Breakfast basis, with breakfast served at Aurum Restaurant, often with the option to enjoy it on the terrace. Lunch, dinner and drinks are paid for locally. There is no formal Half Board or All Inclusive package at present, but menus and offerings can change seasonally, so you can confirm options on arrival.

4. How many steps are there and is Gold Suites suitable for guests with reduced mobility?
Like many caldera-edge hotels, Gold Suites is built into the cliffside with multiple levels and numerous steps, plus a short walk from the drop-off point (around 25m). There are no lifts. As a result, the property is generally not recommended for guests with very limited mobility, or those who find stairs challenging.

5. Can I use facilities at the nearby Andromeda Villas when staying at Gold Suites?
Yes, certain facilities are shared with the neighbouring sister hotel Andromeda Villas, which is roughly 100m away. Typically this can include extra pool terraces and spa facilities, though access and inclusions may vary by season and management policy. The hotel team can confirm exactly what’s available during your stay.

6. Is there a dress code at Gold Suites?
During the day, resort-casual clothing is fine around the pool and bar. In the evening, a smart-casual dress code is often requested in Aurum Restaurant – think tailored shorts or trousers, dresses, skirts or smart tops. Swimwear should be covered in restaurants and indoor public areas.

7. What is the approximate transfer time from Santorini Airport to Gold Suites?
The transfer from Santorini International Airport (JTR) to Gold Suites usually takes around 30 minutes by shared coach, depending on traffic and other hotel stops. Private transfers or taxis may be slightly quicker. Because of the village layout, the coach will typically stop about 25m from the hotel, with a short walk along the pathway to reception.
