This 8-day holiday explores the food, wine and hill towns of Tuscany from a family-run country hotel with a pool, so there is no packing and unpacking. A tour leader travels with the group, which numbers between five and sixteen. You stay seven nights at Hotel Le Renaie near San Gimignano, with breakfast daily, four dinners and two wine tastings.
You begin in medieval Colle Val d'Elsa with an organic wine tasting, take the train to Siena for its great Piazza del Campo, and drive the scenic Chiantigiana to Castellina in Chianti before a hands-on pasta-making class.
