Kassandra (west): the liveliest peninsula, closest to Thessaloniki, with Sani Resort and many big resorts. Sithonia (middle): greener and quieter, with dramatic coves. Athos (east): home to the monastic community of Mount Athos, with peaceful villages such as Ouranoupolis. Boat trips sail along its coast.
