How we chose these hotels
We sell 33 hotels in Sardinia. To build this list we started with every hotel on the island, then read what our guests say: every hotel here is well rated on TripAdvisor. We spread our picks across different resorts so you can compare areas, and we only include hotels you can book with us today as an ATOL-protected package with flights and transfers. Prices change daily, so use the search box at the end of this page for live availability, or ask a Travel Designer for a tailored shortlist.
Things to do
Take a boat trip around the La Maddalena archipelago, swim at La Pelosa or Cala Brandinchi, explore the medieval town of Castelsardo, and visit the Bronze Age nuraghe stone towers.
When to go and getting there
Sardinia’s beach season runs from May to October. July and August are hot and the Costa Smeralda is at its most glamorous, while June and September offer warm sea, quieter beaches and better value. Flights to Olbia take around two and a half hours from the UK, and most hotels in this guide are within an hour of the airport. Hiring a car is the best way to explore the island’s many beaches.
Eating and drinking
Sardinian food is rustic and delicious. Try culurgiones (filled pasta parcels), malloreddus (small gnocchi-shaped pasta) with sausage sauce, pane carasau, the crisp flatbread, and porceddu, slow-roasted suckling pig. Seafood lovers should try bottarga, cured fish roe. Vermentino di Gallura is the island’s crisp white wine, and Cannonau its robust red. Finish with seadas, a fried cheese pastry with honey, and a glass of mirto, a myrtle liqueur.
