Dubrovnik is one of the most spectacular cities in Europe: marble streets, medieval walls rising straight from the Adriatic, and islands scattered just offshore. Staying close enough to explore the Old Town early and late, while escaping the crowds in the middle of the day, is the secret to a perfect trip.
These ten hotels are the ones our guests rate most highly, in the city, along the coast and on the islands.

How we chose these hotels
We sell 43 hotels in the Dubrovnik area. We spread our picks across different areas where we can, and we only include hotels you can book with us today as an ATOL-protected package with flights and transfers. When to go and getting there
May, June, September and October are ideal: warm sea, sunny days and fewer cruise-ship crowds. July and August are hot and busy. Flights take around two and three-quarter hours from the UK. Cavtat is about 15 minutes from the airport and the Old Town around 30 minutes.
Things to do and what to eat
Walk the city walls (go at opening time or late afternoon), ride the cable car up Mount Srđ for the view, kayak around the walls at sunset, take a boat to Lokrum island, and spend a day on the Elaphiti islands. Day trips to the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro and the oyster beds of Ston are easy. Try black risotto, grilled fish, Ston oysters, and Plavac Mali red wine from the Pelješac peninsula.
