Majorca: more choice, bigger resorts and more days out, from the Caves of Drach to the Sóller train. The Bay of Alcúdia and Playa de Muro have miles of shallow, sandy beach. Menorca: calmer and quieter, with turquoise coves and a gentle pace that suits younger children. Both are around two to two and a quarter hours from the UK.
