Map & location
Barcelona, Spain
Catalonia Atenas sits in a lived-in Barcelona neighbourhood with excellent transport links, making it ideal if you want to explore beyond the obvious. Clot metro and local bus stops are just steps away, so you can be admiring Gaudí at La Sagrada Familia, wandering the Gothic Quarter or people-watching along Las Ramblas in a matter of minutes. When you’re done, head back to a quieter corner of the city for a rooftop swim or an hour in the spa.
Barcelona itself brings a best-of-both-worlds mix of beach, culture and nightlife. Spend your days between Gaudí masterpieces, the waterfront and quirky barrios like El Born, then work your way through tapas bars and cava spots after dark.
- Approx. transfer time from airport around 25–35 minutes by taxi or pre-booked transfer, depending on traffic.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The cityscape takes centre stage at the rooftop freshwater pool, where you can cool off between sightseeing sessions and stretch out on sunbeds beneath parasols. The views across Barcelona’s skyline make it a particularly appealing spot around sunset. Pool towels are available free of charge, so you can travel lighter.
Inside the spa you’ll find a heated indoor freshwater pool reserved for adults, adding a calmer, cocooned option on cooler days or after dark. While there’s no on-site beach (this is very much a city base), Barcelona’s sandy shorelines, including Barceloneta Beach, are easy to reach by public transport or taxi if you fancy a day at the sea.
Spa, sports & wellness
Head to the spa to decompress, where a steam room, whirlpool and treatment menu of massages and beauty rituals are available for a supplement (minimum age typically 14+). Opening hours are usually from early morning until late evening, but can vary by season.
If you like to keep active, the air-conditioned gym is equipped with cardio machines, a free weights area, stretching space and fixed strength equipment, and is generally open from 09:00–21:00 (minimum age around 14 years).
Elsewhere, you’ll find 24-hour reception, a concierge team to help with restaurant bookings and tickets, and luggage storage so you can keep exploring Barcelona even if you’re arriving early or departing late.

There’s also a handy Snack Bar for drinks and light snacks from late morning until midnight.
