Map & location
Funchal, Madeira, Portugal
VidaMar Resort Madeira sits on Funchal’s sought-after Lido coastline, where volcanic cliffs drop into the Atlantic and lidos dot the promenade. From the hotel’s sea platform you can step straight into the ocean or simply watch the waves crash below the infinity pools.
You’re just 50m from local cafés and bars along Estrada Monumental, a short stroll from the Lido promenade, and about 2km from Funchal’s cobbled old town, marina and cable car to Monte. It’s a smart, convenient base for exploring Madeira’s levada walks, viewpoints and botanical gardens while still coming home to resort-style facilities.

Food & drink
VidaMar’s food scene leans into variety, especially if you opt for Half Board. The main Ocean Buffet Restaurant serves generous breakfasts and dinners with live cooking stations, international favourites and a kids’ buffet on selected dates.
On top you have four à la carte options (reservations required, dress code smart-casual, no beachwear):
• Casa das Espetadas – Traditional Madeiran skewers and local dishes, many cooked over open flame, with show cooking in the evenings.
• Koi Sushi Restaurant – Intimate Japanese restaurant for sushi and Asian-inspired small plates.
• Mamma Mia – Classic Italian comfort food, from wood-fired-style pizzas to fresh pasta.
• Sabor a Mar – Poolside à la carte venue for relaxed lunches and snacks (typically summer-season and weather dependent).
Two bars keep drinks flowing:
• Lisboa Bar – Sophisticated piano bar open into the evening for cocktails and live music.
• Ocean Lounge Bar – Garden and poolside lounge open from late morning to early evening.
Half Board guests can use the dine-around concept, exchanging buffet dinner for selected à la carte options with a food credit per person, making it easier to mix up your evenings. What All Inclusive typically includes.
