Jardim Do Vau sits in peaceful Praia do Vau, a once-quiet cove between Portimão and Alvor that’s now a favourite for relaxed beach breaks. Golden sands meet turquoise shallows backed by ochre cliffs, and the resort’s landscaped gardens lead directly onto the beach – no roads to cross, just a sandy stroll to the sea.

You’re a short wander (around 200m) from local cafés, bars and small shops, while buzzy Praia da Rocha with its big seafront promenade, nightlife and restaurants is only a couple of kilometres away. Golfers have a course roughly 1.5km from the hotel, and Lagos, Alvor and Portimão are all easy day trips for a change of scene.

Jardim Do Vau gives you a choice of two outdoor freshwater pools, both with children’s sections, sunbathing terraces, loungers and parasols. They’re backed by lawns and palm trees, so it’s easy to find a sunny or shady spot depending on how much Vitamin D you’re chasing.

For cooler days or a quieter swim, head indoors to the heated indoor pool with a whirlpool corner – a calm retreat away from the main activity outside (swimming caps are typically required, and opening days are usually Monday–Saturday).

When you’re ready for the sea, simply slip through the gardens and straight onto the beach. Praia do Vau’s gently shelving shallows, rock pools and coves are ideal for families, paddlers and casual snorkellers.

Food is as flexible as the board basis you choose. The main à la carte restaurant, O Jardim, serves international dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a continental breakfast for Bed and Breakfast and set-menu dinners for Half Board guests.

Yes. One of Jardim Do Vau’s main draws is its direct access to the golden sand of Praia do Vau. The hotel’s gardens lead straight down to the beach, so you don’t need to cross any roads – ideal for families with younger children and anyone who likes to move between pool and sea throughout the day.
Are the apartments at Jardim Do Vau good for families?
The apartments are particularly well suited to families and longer stays.
