Map & location
Venice Mainland (Mestre), Venice, Italy
Smart Holiday Hotel sits in a residential area of Mestre on Venice Mainland, a smart choice if you’d rather base yourself near the airport and transport hubs than in the tighter, more expensive streets of historic Venice.
From here, you can head into Mestre’s own Piazza Ferretto for local cafés and restaurants, or use frequent bus and tram links to be over the bridge and into Venice in roughly 15–25 minutes. It’s a particularly good set-up if you’re catching an early flight or planning to explore wider Veneto as well as the lagoon islands.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 15–30 minutes by taxi or pre-booked transfer, a little longer by shared coach.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Smart Holiday Hotel doesn’t have a pool or beach – this is very much a city-style base designed for guests who’ll spend most of the day out exploring Venice, the nearby islands of Murano and Burano, or the historic sights of Mestre.
If you do fancy a coastal fix, the beaches of the Venetian Lido and the wider Adriatic coastline are reachable by public transport or organised excursions from Venice.
Spa, sports & wellness
There’s no on-site spa or gym, but the hotel focuses on practical comforts and services that make city breaks run smoothly:
• 24-hour reception and concierge-style support
• Luggage storage – useful if you’re arriving early or departing late
• Hotel shuttle bus towards key local points (usually charged; schedule may vary)
• Equipment for hire including bottle warmer, fan, kettle, pushchair and wheelchair (local charges may apply)
• Family-friendly restaurant facilities with highchairs and a children’s menu
For spa days, shopping and wider entertainment, Venice and Mestre both offer a huge choice of independent spas, galleries, cinemas and malls easily reached via local transport.
Activities
At Smart Holiday Hotel, the focus is firmly on getting you out to experience Venice rather than keeping you on-site. While there’s no formal entertainment programme or sports facilities, you have the whole of Venice and Mestre within easy reach:
• Explore Venice’s bridges, canals and hidden calli by day
• Take vaporetto rides along the Grand Canal and out to Murano or Burano
• Visit the M9 Museum in Mestre for a contemporary take on Italian history
• Enjoy aperitivo hours in local bacari (wine bars) before heading back to your quieter base
Excursions and guided tours can often be booked locally in Venice or arranged via your Travelisto holiday specialist before you travel.
