Overview

Perched high on the Megalochori cliffs, Caldera’s Dolphin is an intimate boutique hideaway with the kind of widescreen Santorini views people cross continents for. Think fresh, whitewashed suites, a serene infinity-style pool that melts into the caldera, and à la carte breakfasts served on a panoramic terrace as the Aegean glitters below. With just 15 rooms and a quietly luxurious feel, it’s tailor‑made for honeymoons and special‑occasion escapes.

Fresh, light-filled interiors open straight out onto endless blue at Caldera’s Dolphin. The infinity-style pool and sun terrace sit right on the rim of the caldera, so you can drift between the water, your lounger and the poolside bar without ever losing sight of the volcano, sea and sunset-drenched skyline. With just a handful of suites, service feels personal and unhurried – more private villa than hotel. For couples seeking Santorini’s drama without the crowds of Oia or Fira, Caldera’s Dolphin is spot on. You’re on the quieter west side of the island in Megalochori, with ultra-romantic views, modern suites and à la carte breakfasts included, plus a complimentary shuttle down to Perivolos Beach and into Fira. Facilities

Pool & outdoors

The centrepiece of Caldera’s Dolphin is its outdoor freshwater pool, set on a spacious sun terrace that appears to merge with the caldera beyond. The pool is typically heated between May and October, extending the comfortable swimming season, and is lined with cushioned sunbeds and parasols where you can settle in with a book and a view. Fresh pool towels are provided.

There’s no direct beach access from the clifftop, but the hotel’s complimentary shuttle whisks you down to the black-sand curves of Perivolos Beach twice a day. Here you’ll find beach clubs, tavernas and loungers right at the water’s edge, so you can swap caldera panoramas for Aegean waves whenever the mood takes you.

Spa, sports & wellness

Despite its intimate size, the hotel manages to offer a well-equipped small gym, open seasonally (usually 08:00–20:00 from May to October) with cardio machines, free weights and a stretching zone – ideal if you like to balance indulgent dinners with a quick workout.

For deeper relaxation, guests have access to an off-site spa at a sister property, Avaton Resort, approximately 8km away. Here you can book massages, facials and body treatments, or use the sauna and steam room (all services 16+ and at extra charge; pre-booking is recommended).

Additional facilities and services include a reception with friendly concierge, luggage storage, motorised scooter hire (local charge), and that all-important shuttle service to both Perivolos Beach and Fira town.
