Map & location
Mastichari, Kos, Greece
Kouros Palace Hotel sits on a low hillside on the outskirts of Mastichari, a traditional little harbour village on Kos’s north-west coast. Think whitewashed houses with blue shutters, vine-draped lanes and a long, gently shelving beach.
The setting is quiet and scenic, with countryside swirling around the resort and views across the water to Kalymnos on clear days. Down at the harbour you’ll find tavernas, cafés and fast ferries to neighbouring islands for easy day trips – an island-hop to Kalymnos takes around 20 minutes.
Mastichari is also well placed for exploring Kos: head east for the island’s capital, Kos Town, with its castle and buzzy waterfront, or inland to hill villages and vineyards for a more traditional feel.
- • Beach 250m
- • Mastichari resort centre & harbour 2.5km
- • Kos Town around 22km
- • Ferries to Kalymnos from Mastichari harbour 20 minutes
- Approx. transfer time from airport 30 minutes
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Kouros Palace Hotel is very much built around the water, with four outdoor freshwater pools including two dedicated children’s pools.
Two main pools are framed by broad sun terraces, palms and low-rise buildings, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. Two shallow children’s pools sit close by so parents can relax while keeping an eye on little ones. Fresh pool towels are provided free of charge.
Down the hill, the sandy beach waits for barefoot walks, sandcastle-building and swimming in clear, gently shelving water – ideal for families. A beach taverna and bar complete the scene, and seasonal water-based activities are often available nearby for an additional charge.
Spa, sports & wellness
Active guests are well catered for, with an on-site gym featuring cardio machines, fixed-strength equipment and a free weights area (minimum age 18, typically open 08:00–20:00, seasonal).
Organised activities can include aqua aerobics, basketball, darts, five-a-side football, table tennis, tennis and yoga sessions, ideal if you like a bit of structure to your days.
There’s an on-site spa area offering massage treatments (charges apply; minimum age 18; usually open daytime during the main season), perfect for an hour of downtime while the kids are at the club.
Entertainment is low-key but sociable. Expect:
• Daily daytime activities in summer (roughly June–September) with games, sports and family-focused fun
• Regular but more relaxed daytime activities in spring and autumn
• Occasional evening entertainment throughout the year – from bingo and quizzes to karaoke, live DJs, mini-discos and live music or professional shows (exact programme varies by season and occupancy)
Other useful facilities include a 24-hour reception with currency exchange (local charges may apply), luggage storage and a shuttle bus service, which often links the hotel with the beach or resort area when running.
