Lively: Playa del Inglés, next to the dunes and the Yumbo Centre. Smart and grown-up: Meloneras, with its promenade and golf. Families: Puerto Rico and Amadores, with sheltered beaches. Charm: Puerto de Mogán, with canals and a harbour. Quiet: Taurito and Arguineguín. The south is sunnier than the north. Flights take around four and a half hours, and most resorts are 25 to 45 minutes from the airport.
