Map & location
Marina Grande, Sorrento (Centre), Sorrento Area, Italy
Hotel Admiral enjoys a coveted position right on Sorrento’s Marina Grande harbour – the more traditional, time‑capsule side of town where fishermen still land their daily catch. From the hotel’s terraces you look straight across the water to the Bay of Naples, yet within around 15–20 minutes’ walk (uphill) you can be in bustling Piazza Tasso, exploring cobbled lanes, gelato bars and designer boutiques.
It’s an ideal base if you want the atmosphere of a working harbour and easy sea‑level access, while still being close enough to Sorrento’s main sights, restaurants and transport links for day trips to Capri, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 1 hour 45 minutes (from Naples – NAP), depending on traffic and routing.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The compact outdoor freshwater pool is set on a waterfront sun terrace, so you can swim or simply laze on a lounger while small boats drift in and out of Marina Grande. Parasols and sunbeds are provided, and complimentary pool towels make it easy to travel light.
There’s no sandy beach here – Sorrento’s charm lies more in its platforms and harbours than wide beaches – but from Marina Grande you can dip into the sea from bathing jetties, or stroll to nearby bathing platforms carved from the rocks along the coast.
Spa, sports & wellness
This is a relaxed, low‑key base with the focus firmly on views and atmosphere rather than a long activities list. There’s no on‑site spa or gym, but the concierge‑style reception team can help with local recommendations for wellness centres, boat trips, Amalfi Coast excursions and Capri crossings.
Regular evening entertainment with live music is usually offered between late March/early April and the end of October, adding an atmospheric soundtrack to sunset drinks (programme and frequency can vary by season and occupancy).

The Main Bar functions as a relaxed lounge bar from mid‑morning until late evening – perfect for espresso, aperitivi and post‑dinner digestifs. For sundowners with a view, head up to the Sky Bar on the roof terrace (typically open 15 May–15 October, evenings only), where panoramic vistas of the Gulf of Naples provide a backdrop to cocktails and light bites.
