Map & location
Skiathos Town, Skiathos, Greece
Alkyon Hotel enjoys a prime spot right on the seafront at the entrance to Skiathos Town harbour. Step outside and you’re moments from the waterfront promenade, boat jetties and the town’s many tavernas, cafés and bars. The maze of whitewashed lanes in the old town is an easy stroll away, while Megali Ammos, one of the island’s most popular sandy beaches, is just over a kilometre from the hotel.
Skiathos Town itself mixes authentic Greek character with a lively, cosmopolitan edge – think fishing boats bobbing in the harbour by day and music-filled pavement cafés by night – making Alkyon Hotel an excellent choice if you like to be right where the action is, but still return to a calm base.
- Megali Ammos beach 1.5km
- Local bars, restaurants and shops within a few minutes’ walk
- Bus stop for beaches along the south coast nearby
- Approx. transfer time from airport 10 Minutes
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The hotel’s compact outdoor freshwater pool gives you a refreshing place to cool off between wanderings around town. A sunbathing terrace surrounds the pool, with sunbeds and parasols provided free of charge, plus complimentary pool towels so you can travel lighter.
You’re on the seafront by the harbour rather than a sandy beach, but Megali Ammos – a long, golden arc of sand with shallow waters and watersports – lies just over a kilometre away and can be reached on foot or by local bus. From the harbour in front of the hotel, boat trips depart to many of Skiathos’ more remote coves and beaches, making Alkyon an excellent launchpad for exploring the coastline.
