Villa Esperia sits in Taormina Mare, the beachside neighbourhood just below Taormina’s medieval clifftop town. From here you can wander down to the pebbly shore, head across to the scenic Isola Bella, or glide up the hillside by cable car to discover ancient streets, boutiques and trattorie.
Taormina Mare itself is relaxed and low-key, with a couple of horseshoe-shaped bays, crystal-clear water and a handful of bars and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel. It’s a classic Sicilian seaside base with big views of the Ionian Sea and the coastline towards Calabria.

From the hotel it’s only about 100m to the beach, where Taormina Mare’s pebbly shoreline and clear water are ideal for a refreshing swim or a lazy afternoon by the sea. Water shoes can be handy on the shingle.
