Map & location
Firostefani, Santorini, Greece
Firostefani is often described as the “crown” of Fira – a quieter caldera village that shares the same iconic skyline of white houses and blue domes, but with a more low-key, local feel. Cliff Side Suites sits right on the cliff edge in the resort centre, so you step straight out onto the pedestrian caldera path lined with cafés, tavernas and sunset terraces.
From here it’s an easy 10–15 minute walk along the rim to Fira, the island’s buzzing capital with boutiques, bars and nightlife. The inland villages, wineries and black-sand beaches like Kamari are a short drive away, while Oia and Red Beach can be reached comfortably on a day trip.
- • Fira town 1km (around 10–15 minutes’ walk)
- • Oia 9.3km
- • Kamari Beach 11km
- • Santorini’s famous Red Beach 12.8km
- Approx. transfer time from airport 40 minutes
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The hotel’s compact outdoor freshwater pool is dramatically set on a cliffside terrace, giving you that infinity-edge feeling as you swim or stretch out on a lounger facing the volcano. It’s the kind of pool where you’ll want to linger from late morning to golden hour, camera in hand.
Sunbeds and parasols are available and pool towels are typically provided with a refundable deposit. Being caldera-side means there’s no direct beach below the hotel – instead, you’ll head by bus, taxi or hire car to black-sand Kamari, Perissa or further afield to the photogenic Red Beach for a dip in the sea.
Spa, sports & wellness
This is a boutique, views-first property, so facilities are curated rather than extensive. Guests can book into the Lotus Spa at nearby sister property El Greco Resort & Spa, around 1.8km away, for massages and selected beauty treatments (18+, extra charge; opening hours vary seasonally).
On site, you’ll find a reception for luggage storage and local information, plus easy access to the caldera walking path for leisurely strolls between Firostefani and Fira. The wider area offers hiking, winery visits, sailing trips and beach clubs, all easily arranged locally.

Food & drink
Wake to caldera panoramas and a relaxed buffet breakfast served on the poolside terrace restaurant, with local Greek produce and continental favourites to ease you into the day. The pool bar keeps you topped up with chilled drinks and light options while you lounge in the sun and watch boats glide across the caldera.
Smart casual dress may be requested at breakfast. Opening hours and menu details can vary by season; supplements and reservations may apply for certain items or services. More info
Santorini is a compact, volcanic island, so nothing is ever too far away – but the terrain can be steep, especially around the caldera. Firostefani offers a “best of both worlds” location: calmer than Fira yet close enough to walk into the capital for shopping, museums and nightlife. Local life follows an easy-going Greek rhythm, with leisurely café culture by day and sunset-focused evenings.
Currency: Euro (€).
Language: Greek (English widely spoken in tourist areas).
Time difference from UK: +2 hours.
Average UK–Santorini flight time: around 4 hours.
Local prices are approximate and vary by venue, but you can expect things like local beer and taverna meals to be higher than on mainland Greece due to the island setting. Cliff Side Suites is a cliffside property with many steps and no lifts, which is part of the charm and the views, but something to keep in mind when packing and planning.
