Kilimanjaro Lemosho Trek & Safari – 13 Days
Climb Kilimanjaro, then relax on safari in Ngorongoro and Tarangire.
Tour overview
This 13-day trip combines a Kilimanjaro climb with a short safari in northern Tanzania. A trek leader and mountain crew lead the climb, then a safari driver-guide takes over, for a group of four to sixteen. You spend seven nights camping on the mountain and five in lodges, with almost every meal included.
The Lemosho Route starts in rainforest and crosses the Shira Plateau, passing the Lava Tower and the Barranco Wall to Barafu Camp. A midnight start brings you to Uhuru Peak, the roof of Africa at 5,895 metres, before the descent to Mweka Gate and Moshi.

With the climb done, you drive to Lake Manyara for a first game drive, spend a full day in the Ngorongoro Crater looking for lions, elephants and rhino, and finish in Tarangire, known for its herds of elephants and baobab trees.
The physical rating is high. This trip suits fit walkers who want to climb Kilimanjaro and see the wildlife afterwards.

What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.
Do I need a visa for Tanzania?
Yes, UK citizens need a visa; apply for an e-visa well before travel.
How hard is the climb?
Very demanding: long days at high altitude and a night-time summit push. Good fitness and training beforehand are essential.
Where do I sleep on the mountain?
In tents at the mountain campsites, with a mess tent for meals and a toilet tent; porters carry the camping kit.
Which meals are included?
12 breakfasts, 11 lunches and 11 dinners.
Is the safari part of the price?
Yes, three days of game drives with a driver-guide are included.
Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
