Tour overview
This 11-day escorted tour takes you along the Silk Road with return flights from the UK and a domestic flight included. A tour director and local guides look after the group throughout. You stay nine nights in hotels with restaurants and pools, with ten breakfasts and several lunches and dinners, including a welcome dinner with wine tasting.
In Tashkent you tour the old town and the new, with a free afternoon or an optional trip to the Chimgan Mountains. A flight takes you to Urgench for Khiva, its walled inner town a perfectly preserved museum city. A scenic drive across the Kyzylkum desert brings you to Bukhara for three nights, with a guided tour, a local lunch and cooking masterclass, the Bakhautdin Naqshband mausoleum and the bazaar.

On the way to Samarkand you visit Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Timur. In Samarkand you explore the Registan and the tiled tombs of the Shah-i-Zinda, then visit the paper-making village of Konigil before the train back to Tashkent and your flight home.
