This 9-day tour combines Tunisia’s great Roman sites with its coastal towns and medinas, staying first at a beach resort on the Côte de Carthage. A tour leader travels with the group throughout. You stay eight nights in comfortable hotels, with breakfast daily and two lunches, and airport transfers on the first and last days are included.

From your resort near Tunis you visit the ruins of ancient Carthage and the cobbled lanes and cafés of Sidi Bou Said, then spend a day at Dougga, the best-preserved Roman town in North Africa, and the Andalusian town of Testour. Heading south, you explore the less-visited site of Uthina and stay near El Jem, home to one of the largest Roman amphitheatres ever built.

You see the Fatimid fortress at Mahdia, then follow the coast to Monastir and the old medina of Sousse before reaching Kairouan, the holiest city in Tunisia, for its Great Mosque and medina. Your last full day in Tunis brings the mosaics of the Bardo Museum and a walk through the old medina.
