Chitwan National Park Short Break from Kathmandu – 4 Days
An independent break in Chitwan with a jeep safari, canoe ride and Tharu culture.
Tour overview
This 4-day short break is an independent trip without a tour leader: transfers and activities are arranged, and local naturalist guides lead the outings. You stay three nights at a forest resort near Chitwan National Park, with all meals included there.
After the drive from Kathmandu you settle into the resort on the edge of the park. Next day you take a canoe ride on the river looking for crocodiles and birds, and a jeep safari into the jungle, home to rhinos, deer and, with luck, tigers.

There is a birdwatching walk, a visit to a Tharu village and museum, and an evening of traditional Tharu dancing before the drive back to Kathmandu.
The physical rating is low. This break suits travellers adding wildlife to a stay in Kathmandu.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
