Annapurna to Chitwan: Walks & Wildlife in Nepal – 13 Days
A lodge-to-lodge Annapurna walk and Chitwan safaris in a group of up to sixteen.
Tour overview
This 13-day small-group adventure combines a comfortable lodge-to-lodge walk in the Annapurna foothills with wildlife safaris in the jungle of Chitwan. A tour leader travels with the group, which numbers no more than sixteen, and a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara saves a long drive. You stay twelve nights: five in superior mountain lodges with Gurung-style décor, two at a jungle resort in Chitwan and five in hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Breakfast is included daily, along with seven lunches and eight dinners.
From Pokhara you walk through farmland and forest into the Modi River valley, with constant views of Annapurna South and the fishtail peak of Machhapuchhre. Over five days you trek to Ghandruk, cross the river by suspension bridge to Landruk, follow an easy trail to Majgaon and continue through subtropical forest to Dhampus, watching sunrise over the whole Annapurna range. Each night is spent in a comfortable lodge rather than a basic teahouse.

Back in Pokhara you visit the Tibetan refugee camp at Tashiling for a momo-cooking experience. A drive along the Trishuli River brings you to Chitwan National Park, where a dugout canoe trip and a jeep safari seek out one-horned rhinos, crocodiles and, with luck, tigers, followed by an evening of Tharu culture. You return to Kathmandu for a day of sightseeing, with the option of an early flight past Everest.
The physical rating is medium. This trip suits travellers who want to walk in the Himalaya in comfort and add a wildlife safari.

What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.
How hard is the walking?
Moderate, with some steep steps, and the altitude stays below about 2,000 metres.
What are the lodges like?
Comfortable mountain lodges with en-suite rooms, warm layers and Gurung-style décor.
What might I see in Chitwan?
One-horned rhinos, crocodiles, deer and many birds. Tigers are present but rarely seen.
Do I need a visa?
Yes, UK citizens need a visa for Nepal, available on arrival or online.
Is the Everest flight included?
No, it's an optional extra on Day 12.
How many people travel together?
Between four and sixteen travellers, with a tour leader.
Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
