Tour overview

This 15-day journey travels the length of Italy from Puglia to Venice, with food and wine at its heart. A tour leader travels with the group, which numbers no more than twelve, by private vehicle and high-speed train. You stay fourteen nights in upscale hotels, including a converted monastery in Nardo and a Tuscan borgo, with breakfast on most days and many lunches and dinners.

From Bari you visit the trulli of Alberobello and clifftop Polignano a Mare, then stay in a monastery hotel in Nardo, with an olive oil tasting, a cooking class and a tour of baroque Lecce. In Matera you explore the cave dwellings of the sassi and lunch at a winery, then visit Pompeii on the way to Naples.

In Rome you tour the Colosseum and Pantheon with a guide. Two nights in a Tuscan borgo bring Siena, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and a gourmet dinner, followed by Pisa, Lucca and Florence, with the Accademia gallery. A high-speed train takes you to Venice.

The physical rating is low. This journey suits travellers who want an in-depth, comfortable tour of Italy and its food.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
