Map & location
Myrties, Kalymnos Island, Greece
Myrties is one of Kalymnos Island’s most characterful spots, with views across the channel to tiny, car-free Telendos and dramatic climbing crags rising behind the village. Zephyros Hotel Kalymnos sits in a peaceful side street within walking distance of two beaches – Melitsachas and Massouri – along with seafront tavernas where you can linger over grilled seafood and ouzo as the sun sets.
The vibe here is low-key and authentically Greek: think fishermen’s boats, traditional cafés and a coastline dotted with pebble-and-sand coves. It’s also one of the island’s best bases for rock climbing, hiking and boat trips, with taxi boats to Telendos and routes to hilltop castles within easy reach.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 2 hours including ferry crossing from Kos (KGS) via Mastichari port.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Zephyros Hotel Kalymnos itself focuses on being a calm, contemporary base, but guests are welcome to use the outdoor pool and bar at the Kalypso sister hotel next door – a handy bonus if you like to mix beach days with a few lazy hours around a pool.
When it’s time to head to the sea, you’re spoilt for choice. Melitsachas beach (approx. 280m away) offers turquoise shallows and a relaxed, local feel, while Massouri beach (around 640m) is slightly larger and lined with tavernas and cafés. Both are ideal for cooling off after a morning hike or climb, and boat trips and water-taxis along the coast are easy to arrange locally in season.
Spa, sports & wellness
The hotel’s facilities are deliberately simple, placing the focus firmly on getting out and exploring Kalymnos:
• Access to outdoor pool and bar at neighbouring Kalypso Hotel (seasonal, times may vary)
• Free Wi-Fi throughout the property
• Reception with luggage storage
Beyond the hotel, Myrties and nearby Massouri are one of Europe’s best-known rock-climbing hubs, with well-bolted routes for all levels. You’ll also find hiking trails to hilltop chapels and castles, snorkelling in clear water and relaxed boat trips to Telendos and hidden coves – all easy to arrange locally with specialist operators.
Activities
While Zephyros Hotel Kalymnos keeps on-site activities understated, the surroundings are the real playground. Ideas for your stay include:

? Swimming and snorkelling from Melitsachas and Massouri beaches
