Map & location
Ouranoupolis, Halkidiki, Greece
Set just outside the atmospheric port town of Ouranoupolis at the gateway to Mount Athos, Akrathos Beach Hotel enjoys a calm hillside setting with big sea views. The beach is around 100m away, so you can wander down for a swim or a session on the water sports, then stroll or shuttle back up for lunch by the pool.
Ouranoupolis itself mixes old-world charm with a working harbour. Expect whitewashed streets, a Byzantine tower, small tavernas and boat trips that edge along the Mount Athos peninsula for views of the famous monasteries. From here you can also hop a boat to the nearby island of Ammouliani for textbook-clear waters and sandy coves.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The heart of the hotel is its spacious pool terrace, home to two freshwater outdoor pools including a dedicated children’s pool. There’s plenty of room to spread out on the sunbeds and parasols, and inflatables are permitted, so kids can splash about to their hearts’ content. A towel service is available with a refundable deposit.
Down at the coast, the beach is just about 100m away. Here you’ll typically find a sunbathing area and a good range of water sports, from kayaks and pedalos to windsurfing, scuba diving and motorised fun, all run by an external operator for an extra charge (usually for guests aged 18+). It’s easy to spend the whole day moving between sea, sand, pool and bar without ever feeling rushed.

You’re never far from a drink either.
