Best of Ireland & Scotland: Dublin to Edinburgh – 14 Days
Dingle, the Cliffs of Moher, the Giant's Causeway, Glencoe, Loch Ness and Edinburgh, with a tour director.
Tour overview
This 14-day escorted tour links the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland with the lochs and Highlands of Scotland, crossing the Irish Sea by ferry from Northern Ireland to Glasgow. A tour director travels with you throughout, with local experts and storytellers along the way. You stay thirteen nights in handpicked hotels, among them the Skellig Hotel in Dingle, the Connemara Coast near Galway, Ballygally Castle in County Antrim and the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh. Thirteen breakfasts and seven dinners are included, with a welcome dinner in Dublin, a celebration dinner in Edinburgh and a traditional afternoon tea.
After a welcome dinner in Dublin, a local expert reveals the city's Georgian squares and history. Heading south, you go behind the scenes at the National Stud in Kildare and stay in Cork, then choose between Blarney Castle and other iconic sights on the way to Dingle, where two nights let you explore the Gaelic culture and Atlantic scenery of the Dingle Peninsula.

A short ferry across the Shannon Estuary brings you to the Clare coast and the towering Cliffs of Moher, then on to Galway. You tour the wild Connemara region of lakes and mountains, stay by Sligo Bay, and cross into Northern Ireland for a walking tour of Londonderry with a leading local storyteller and a visit to the Giant's Causeway, before a night in a castle on the Antrim coast.
The ferry carries you to Scotland, where you drive along the banks of Loch Lomond and through the dramatic valley of Glencoe to Loch Ness and Inverness. A Highlands day includes Culloden Moor, where Bonnie Prince Charlie's army was defeated. Passing Blair Castle and the Grampian Mountains, you visit St Andrews on the way to Edinburgh, where a local expert shows you Princes Street, the Scott Monument and the Old Town.
The physical rating is low, with relaxed starts on several days. This tour suits travellers who want the best of both countries' scenery and stories, with comfortable hotels and every detail handled. An airport transfer is included at the end of the tour, and a passport is needed for the ferry crossings between Ireland and the UK.
