This 15-day trip travels the length of Madagascar's main road south, with a tour leader, local park guides and a group of ten to sixteen. You stay fourteen nights in hotels, bungalows and lodges, with breakfast daily and several lunches and dinners.
In Andasibe you listen for the haunting call of the indri, the largest lemur, on day and night walks. You cross the highlands to colonial Antsirabe and the volcanic Lake Tritriva, then Ambositra, home of Zafimaniry woodcarving, with a Malagasy dinner and folk dancing.

Ranomafana's rainforest is home to golden bamboo lemurs and chameleons. Further south, Isalo National Park, Madagascar's Grand Canyon, offers walks through sandstone gorges to natural pools.
Crossing the Spiny Desert past Mahafaly tombs you reach the beach at Ifaty for two days, before a flight back to Antananarivo. The physical rating is medium, with long road days.
