This 9-day journey explores the lesser-visited north of Costa Rica, staying in some of its most memorable retreats. An expert guide travels with the group, which numbers between four and sixteen, by private transport. You stay eight nights in hand-picked lodges, a tented camp and a thermal resort, with breakfast and dinner daily and six lunches, and gratuities included.
From Alajuela you travel to the cloud forest of Bajos del Toro for a bean-to-cup coffee experience, birding with an ornithologist and a visit to a local farm. In Cano Negro you stay in a tented camp, meet conservationists working to protect the jaguar and glide by private boat through lagoons alive with birds and caimans.
