Asia's great cruise hub, with short breaks to Penang and Phuket and longer voyages across South East Asia.
Singapore is the cruise hub of South East Asia and one of the easiest places in the world to start a cruise. The airport is excellent, the terminals are efficient, and the city itself, with its hawker centres, gardens and skyline, is a destination in its own right. Many UK travellers spend a few days here before or after a cruise.
Royal Caribbean has a big presence, with family-friendly ships sailing short breaks for much of the year. Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line offer longer itineraries, and luxury lines including Silversea, Seabourn, Oceania Cruises and Explora Journeys run voyages through the region, especially in the northern winter.
Short three- to five-night cruises to Penang, Phuket, Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur are popular as part of a wider Asia holiday. Longer sailings of 12 to 14 nights head to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, or north to Hong Kong, and some grand voyages continue to Japan. There are also seasonal repositioning cruises to Australia and India.
Singapore is hot and humid all year, with rain at any time. The main cruise season for the wider region runs from about November to April, when the weather in Thailand and Vietnam is at its best. We can combine your cruise with a city stay, a beach extension or a tour of the region.

A cruise from Singapore fits neatly with a land tour of the region. A short cruise to Penang and Phuket adds a relaxing break to a Thailand or Malaysia trip, while a longer voyage to Vietnam pairs well with a few days in Hanoi or at Angkor.

Yes, as part of a wider holiday. A three- or four-night cruise to Penang or Phuket is a relaxing way to add variety to a Singapore stay or an Asia tour.
We recommend at least a couple of nights to recover from the long flight and enjoy the city, from Gardens by the Bay to the hawker centres. We can arrange hotels and transfers.
