Grand Tour of Peru & the Amazon with Flights – 16 Days
Arequipa, Colca, Titicaca, Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Amazon, with flights and a tour director.
Tour overview
This 16-day escorted tour makes a grand circuit of Peru, from the colonial cities of the coast and the Andes to Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu and the Amazon rainforest. Return flights are included, along with domestic flights and all transfers, and a tour director travels with you throughout. You stay thirteen nights, eleven in three- and four-star hotels and two at an eco-lodge in the Amazon, with two nights in flight. Breakfast is included daily, along with six lunches.
After a city tour of Lima's colonial heart, from the Plaza de Armas to the Casa Aliaga, you fly to Arequipa, the White City, built from volcanic stone beneath three volcanoes. A tour takes you from the Carmen Alto viewpoint through the Yanahuara quarter to the Santa Catalina Monastery. Climbing past vicuñas and flamingo lakes to over 16,000 feet, you reach the Colca Canyon, more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, and watch Andean condors soar at the Cruz del Condor.

From Puno a private launch takes you to the floating Uros Islands and to Taquile, famed for its knitwear. Crossing the altiplano, you visit the painted church of Andahuaylillas, the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, on the way to Cusco, where you tour the cathedral, the Coricancha temple and the giant walls of Sacsayhuamán. In the Sacred Valley you browse Pisac's market and explore its fortress, then take the train through the Urubamba gorge to Machu Picchu.
A short flight brings you to Puerto Maldonado and a motorised canoe to your eco-lodge on the Madre de Dios River. Guided walks, a dusk river trip, a visit to the Tambopata National Reserve in search of giant otters and macaws, and a canopy walkway high in the treetops reveal the rainforest before your return to Cusco and the flight home via Lima.
The physical rating is medium, with time at high altitude. This tour suits travellers who want to see all of Peru, including the Amazon, with flights included.

What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.
Are flights included?
Yes, return scheduled flights and domestic flights within Peru.
Is there a luggage limit in the Amazon?
Yes, take a small bag to the eco-lodge. The rest of your luggage waits in Cusco.
Is altitude a concern?
Arequipa helps you acclimatise before Colca, Puno and Cusco, which are at high altitude.
Do I need a visa?
UK citizens don't need a visa for Peru for tourist stays.
Is there a single supplement?
Yes, single rooms are available for a supplement.
Who leads the tour?
A tour director travels with you throughout.
Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
