Luxury Peru in Depth with the Ica Valley – 18 Days
Ica, Arequipa, Colca, Titicaca, Cusco, two visits to Machu Picchu and the Amazon in a group of up to twelve.
Tour overview
This 18-day small-group journey explores Peru in depth and in comfort, from the desert vineyards of the Ica Valley to the Andes, Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu and the Amazon rainforest. A local leader travels with the group, which numbers no more than twelve, with expert local guides at key sites. You stay seventeen nights in upmarket hotels, including Peru's only vineyard hotel, a riverside resort in the Colca Canyon and private cabanas in an Amazon reserve. Breakfast is included daily, with four lunches and five dinners, and domestic flights and trains are included.
After a welcome dinner in Lima, the culinary capital of South America, you spend two nights at Viñas Queirolo in the Ica Valley, surrounded by vineyards that produce wine and pisco. A boat trip from Paracas visits the Ballestas Islands, home to sea lions, boobies and penguins, followed by a private tour with a sommelier and sunset drinks, with an optional flight over the Nazca Lines. Back in Lima, a walking tour includes the catacombs of the San Francisco Monastery before you fly to Arequipa, the White City, for guided visits to the Santa Catalina Monastery and the cathedral.

Crossing the Altiplano past vicuñas and alpacas, you reach the Colca Canyon, more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, with time in the hot springs and a dawn visit to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint. On Lake Titicaca you cruise to the floating Uros Islands and Taquile, then travel to Cusco via the ruins of Raqchi. Historian guides lead you through Cusco Cathedral and the Coricancha temple, and in the Sacred Valley you share a pachamanca lunch cooked in the earth with a local community.
The 360° train carries you to Aguas Calientes for a guided visit to Machu Picchu, followed by a second visit at dawn the next morning. Your journey ends with two nights in the Amazon at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, with canoe trips on Lake Sandoval in search of giant otters and howler monkeys, a canopy walkway and a twilight river trip, before a farewell dinner in Lima.
The physical rating is medium, with time at high altitude. This journey suits travellers who want to see the whole of Peru in style.

What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.

Is altitude a concern?
Arequipa, Colca, Puno and Cusco are at altitude. The route climbs gradually to help you acclimatise.
Do I need a visa?
UK citizens don't need a visa for Peru for tourist stays.
Is the Nazca Lines flight included?
No, it's an optional extra from the Ica Valley.

Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
