A Singapore stopover, then both islands of New Zealand by coach, ferry, train and helicopter, with Milford Sound, Hobbiton and Rotorua, flights included.
Tour overview
This 22-day guided tour combines a short stopover in Singapore with a full journey through both islands of New Zealand. Return international flights are included, with checked luggage, and you stay in hotels throughout, mostly four-star, with breakfast. Between Auckland and Christchurch you travel by coach, ferry, train, boat and helicopter, covering most of the country's best-known landscapes in three weeks.
In Singapore you check in early by Clarke Quay, then join a half-day city tour of the colonial district, the Merlion and Thian Hock Keng Temple, with drives through Chinatown and Little India. The tour ends with a guided visit to the UNESCO-listed Singapore Botanic Gardens.

On the North Island you head north from Auckland to the subtropical Bay of Islands for two nights. There you visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, where the founding treaty was signed in 1840, and cruise out to the Hole in the Rock at Cape Brett, often with dolphins. Back in Auckland a city tour includes the Auckland Museum and its Māori collection. Heading south, you take a boat into the glowworm grotto of the Waitomo Caves, then reach Rotorua, where you see the Pohutu Geyser at Te Puia, followed by a hāngī buffet dinner and a Māori cultural performance. A guided visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set follows, then Huka Falls, Taupo, the Art Deco town of Napier and the capital, Wellington.
The Interislander ferry crosses Cook Strait through the Marlborough Sounds, with wine tasting in Marlborough on the way to Nelson. From there a catamaran cruise follows the golden coast of Abel Tasman National Park. The TranzAlpine train crosses the Southern Alps to Arthur's Pass, and at Franz Josef a 20-minute helicopter flight ends with a landing on the snow above the glacier, weather permitting.
After the Haast Pass and Lake Wanaka you spend two nights in Queenstown, including a free day. A full-day trip to Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park includes a cruise beneath Mitre Peak and Stirling Falls. The return north passes gold-rush Arrowtown, the Lindis Pass, Lake Pukaki with views of Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain, and Lake Tekapo before your final night in Christchurch.
The physical rating is low, with a mix of guided sightseeing and free time. It suits travellers who want to see the whole of New Zealand once, properly, with every connection arranged.

Frequently asked questions
How do I book this tour?
Tap any "Enquire" button on the page and one of our travel specialists will be in touch within 24 hours (often same day). We'll confirm availability on your preferred date, run through anything you need to know, and only ask for the deposit once you've decided.
What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.
Are flights included?
Yes. Return international flights from the UK via Singapore are included, with checked luggage. Airport transfers in Singapore and Christchurch are included.
Do I need a visa for New Zealand?
UK citizens do not need a visa for Singapore. New Zealand requires an NZeTA, an electronic travel authority. Full details on how to apply come with your booking confirmation.
What if the helicopter flight cannot go?
The Franz Josef flight and alpine landing depend on the weather. If it cannot operate, an alternative flight is offered in Queenstown or at Mount Cook.
What meals are included?
Breakfast at the hotels in New Zealand, a hāngī buffet dinner in Rotorua, and packed lunches on the Abel Tasman and Milford Sound days. Other meals are at your own cost.
How much free time is there?
Free afternoons in Singapore, the Bay of Islands, Rotorua and Nelson, free time on arrival in Auckland and Queenstown, and a full free day in Queenstown.
How active is the tour?
The physical rating is low. Most days involve coach travel and short walks on guided visits. The optional Pitt Head Loop walk in Abel Tasman takes about two hours.
Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
