Classical Spain: Seville, Córdoba & Granada Escorted Tour – 7 Days
Ronda, Seville, Córdoba and Granada in a week, with flights to Málaga, four-star hotels, a tour leader and entry to the Mezquita and the Alhambra.
Tour overview
This 7-day escorted tour of Andalucía links the three great Moorish cities of southern Spain: Seville, Córdoba and Granada. Return flights to Málaga are included from a choice of UK airports, and a tour leader travels with the group throughout. You stay six nights in four-star hotels, with breakfast every day, and travel between the cities by coach.
The first night is spent in the countryside near the white village of Mijas. Next morning the road climbs into the mountains to Ronda, built on a ridge and split by a gorge hundreds of feet deep. Its bridges and clifftop views are among the most dramatic sights in Spain. The drive on to Seville crosses quiet hill country where eagles, vultures and ibex are often seen, and that evening you are introduced to Andalucían tapas.

Seville gets three nights. A guided city tour shows you Plaza de España, built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, and the Torre del Oro on the banks of the Guadalquivir. The next day is free. You could visit the Real Alcázar, the royal palace with its Moorish courtyards and gardens, and Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and the burial place of Christopher Columbus. You could also wander the lanes of Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter, shop on Calle Sierpes or relax in María Luisa Park. An optional flamenco show and river cruises are also available.
On Day 5 you drive east to Córdoba for a guided tour of the Mezquita, the great mosque-cathedral with its arcaded hall of more than 850 columns, entry included. You also see the Roman bridge and the flower-filled patios of the old town, before continuing past olive groves to Granada, beneath the snow-capped Sierra Nevada.
The last full day is spent at the Alhambra, the hilltop palace-fortress that marks the high point of Moorish art in Spain. Entry is included, and you walk through its palaces, fortifications and the Generalife gardens of roses and fountains. Afterwards there is time to explore Granada's old Moorish quarter and the cave houses of Sacromonte.
The pace is gentle, with a low physical rating, though historic centres have narrow streets and cobbles. It suits first-time visitors to southern Spain who want the essential sights of Andalucía with flights, hotels and entrance to the two great monuments arranged.
