Set between the popular resorts of Stalis and Hersonissos on Crete’s north coast, Arminda Hotel & Spa enjoys a handy location for beach days and evenings out. A small sandy cove lies roughly 200m downhill from the hotel, while the buzz of Stalis and Hersonissos – with their tavernas, bars and waterfront promenades – is around 2km in either direction. Expect a relaxed, semi-rural setting with sea views from many parts of the complex and easy access to the island’s main road for day trips to Knossos, Heraklion or waterparks nearby.

Water babies are particularly well catered for here. The hotel offers six outdoor saltwater pools, including:

The aqua park and splash park are stars of the show, featuring water slides, tipping buckets, sprinklers and water domes. A small sandy beach sits about 200m from the hotel, ideal for a quick dip in the Aegean or sandcastle sessions with little ones. Loungers and watersports are typically available locally for an extra charge.

The spa offers a calm counterpoint to the splash zones, with a sauna and steam room plus a menu of massages and beauty treatments (all with local charges).

Good to know: Hersonissos offers a blend of sandy beaches, modern bars and classic Cretan tavernas, plus easy access to family-friendly attractions such as waterparks and the Aquaworld Aquarium. Average UK–Heraklion flight time is about 4.5 hours, and Crete is generally two hours ahead of the UK.
