Set on Crete’s sun-soaked north coast, Aquila Rithymna Beach has a privileged beachfront position in Adelianos Kampos, just east of Rethymnon. Step straight from manicured gardens onto a long sandy beach, or wander 50m to local shops, tavernas and cafés.

Adelianos Kampos itself is all about easy seaside living – think family-friendly shallows, water sports and relaxed waterfront bars – while Rethymnon’s Venetian harbour, old town lanes and fortressed skyline sit only a short taxi or local bus ride away. The main Rithymna Restaurant lays on generous buffet spreads for breakfast, lunch and dinner with show-cooking stations, while Greek Restaurant Mournies serves a mix of buffet and à la carte dishes by the pool – ideal for long, lazy lunches in the shade. For evenings, you can book into the Italian La Pergola buffet with show-cooking, the Ancient Eleftherna à la carte for elevated Greek cuisine, or Oceana Sea Food Restaurant set right by the beach.

Bars include the elegant “Loggia” Lounge Bar in the lobby, a chilled Beach Bar for daytime refreshments by the shore, Cafeteria Rimondi for snacks and drinks by the pool, and the atmospheric Great Hellas Kafeneion in the gardens. The resort features four outdoor pools, including a large saltwater pool with a children’s section, two freshwater pools with spacious sunbathing terraces (one right by the beach), and a dedicated freshwater children’s pool. There’s also an indoor freshwater pool with whirlpool, heated in the cooler months (typically October to April).

The headline attraction for families is the on-site aqua park, included in your stay. It comes packed with slides for different ages, from multi-lane racers and rubber mat slides to kamikaze and half-pipe chutes, a lazy river and ring slides. It normally operates between May and October from around 10:00–18:00, with age, height or weight restrictions on certain slides.
