Real Peru for 18–35s: Amazon, Inca Trail & Titicaca – 15 Days
The Amazon, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and a Lake Titicaca homestay for travellers aged 18 to 35.
Tour overview
This 15-day adventure for travellers aged 18 to 35 combines the Amazon rainforest, the Inca Trail and Lake Titicaca with plenty of time to enjoy Peru's food and nightlife. A local leader travels with the group, which numbers no more than sixteen, and domestic flights are included. You stay fourteen nights in hotels, an Amazon jungle lodge, three nights camping on trek, and a homestay on Lake Titicaca. Fourteen breakfasts, seven lunches and six dinners are included.
After a walk through Lima's Miraflores district, you fly to Puerto Maldonado and take a motorised canoe upriver to a jungle lodge in the Madre de Dios region for two nights of guided walks and boat trips in search of wildlife. Flying on to Cusco, you explore the Qoricancha temple, the San Pedro market and the Twelve-Angled Stone, and learn to mix a pisco sour, Peru's national cocktail.

A drive through the Sacred Valley brings you to a local community and a market, then on to Ollantaytambo. Over the next four days you hike the classic Inca Trail, crossing Dead Woman's Pass at 4,200 metres and passing the ruins of Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca before entering Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate at dawn. Alternatively, you can hike the quieter Quarry Trail or stay in Cusco and take the train to Aguas Calientes; every route includes a guided visit to Machu Picchu.
After a free day in Cusco, you travel across the Altiplano to Puno, the folklore capital of Peru, and take a slow boat across Lake Titicaca to the floating Uros Islands and a homestay with a local family. Back in Puno you have time to explore before flying to Lima for a farewell dinner with the group.
The physical rating is medium, and the Inca Trail is a challenging trek at altitude. This trip suits active travellers aged 18 to 35 who want a real adventure in Peru.

Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.

Challenging, with a long climb to 4,200 metres on the second day. Porters carry up to 5kg of your kit.
What is the homestay like?
A simple mud-brick house with plenty of blankets, shared drop toilets and no shower.

Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
