Map & location
Agia Efimia, Kefalonia, Greece
Kefalonia Bay Palace occupies a hillside position above the pretty harbour village of Agia Efimia on Kefalonia’s north-east coast. The setting is classic Ionian: terracotta roofs, forested hillsides and sailboats bobbing in the bay.
From the hotel you can wander down to the local beach for a swim in crystal-clear water, or stroll along the waterfront to explore tavernas, low‑key bars, bakeries and coffee shops. Iconic Myrtos Beach – star of “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” – is within easy driving distance, as are the Drogarati Caves and the island’s Venetian castles for an enjoyable day’s exploring.
- • Beach 50m (via hillside path/steps)
- • Agia Efimia resort centre (harbour, shops, tavernas) 500m
- • Kefalonia capital Argostoli reachable by car for a day trip
- • Myrtos Beach a short drive away
- Approx. transfer time from airport 1 hour 45 minutes
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
You’ll find two outdoor freshwater pools stepping down the hillside, including a main pool with spacious sun terrace and a separate children’s pool. Loungers, parasols and complimentary pool towels are provided, so you can settle in for long, lazy days with the sea glittering below.
The local beach is roughly 50m away – typically a small, shingle or pebble strip that’s very common in Kefalonia – with wonderfully clear, swimmable water and views across the bay. Conditions are usually calm, making it appealing for a morning dip before breakfast or a sunset swim after a day exploring the island.
Spa, sports & wellness
Kefalonia Bay Palace keeps the focus on slow, scenic downtime rather than a busy activity schedule. Facilities are centred around the pools, restaurant and bars, with the wider resort providing the rest: boat trips, snorkelling in clear coves, scenic coastal walks and drives to nearby villages and viewpoints.
On site you’ll also find:
• 24-hour reception with luggage storage
• Free Wi‑Fi throughout the hotel
• Baby-changing facilities by the pool area
• Highchairs available in the restaurant
Local partners in Agia Efimia can usually arrange boat rental, snorkel gear and excursions – a great way to explore hidden coves and nearby beaches at your own pace.
Activities
The emphasis at Kefalonia Bay Palace is on relaxed, low-key holidays rather than scheduled entertainment. Typical ways to spend your time include:
• Unwinding around the main pool or children’s pool
• Strolling to the nearby beach for swimming and snorkelling in clear water
• Wandering into Agia Efimia for waterfront dining and café-hopping
• Joining locally-run boat trips or hiring a small boat to explore hidden coves
• Day trips to Myrtos Beach, Drogarati Caves or nearby traditional villages
If you’re after nightlife, Argostoli and other larger resorts can be reached by car or taxi for a livelier evening out before retreating to the calm of Agia Efimia.

Food & drink
The hotel’s main restaurant keeps things relaxed and traditional, with a focus on Greek and local Kefalonian flavours alongside familiar international dishes. Expect buffet-style breakfasts with hot and cold choices, and dinners that mix Mediterranean favourites with regional recipes.
There are two bars: a lobby bar for an evening aperitif overlooking the bay, and a pool bar for daytime refreshments, light bites and sundowners by the water. A smart-casual dress code may apply at dinner, particularly indoors and on the terrace.
Opening dates, menus and whether reservations or supplements are required can vary by season and board basis, and à la carte choices are usually charged locally.
